We receive a lot of questions in the Town Office related to taxes and the tax commitment rate. Citizens express interest in getting involved so we are sharing with you three equally important opportunities to participate in budget voting. They all factor into the tax commitment rate. You must be a registered to vote to participate.
Wednesday, May 6th, 6 p.m. in Region 9 on River Road in Mexico, Maine – Voting will take place in the cafeteria of Region 9. You will be voting on what they term as FY2027 Budget Warrant line items. This is the meeting to attend if you wish to ask questions or propose changes to the items. The final budget will be on at the State Primary & Town Elections June 9th. A copy of the Warrant and budget are posted at the Town Office. IMPORTANT If you register to vote after April 15, 2026, you will need to have a certified note from the Andover Town Office to vote at the Region 9 meeting due to the date the school requests their voter lists from the State of Maine. You will be voting on the FY2026 Budget Warrant line items. This is the meeting to attend if you wish to ask questions or propose changes. Town Meeting, May 30th, 8 a.m., Andover Town Hall – Elm Street, Andover, Maine – meeting will be held upstairs (assist chair available). You will be voting on Town related FY2026 Warrant Articles. This is the meeting to attend if you wish to propose changes to the articles being voted on. We will notify you when the book is printed and available for pick up, however, items in the book are for reference only, the posted Warrant is the official document and what will be voted on.
State Primary & Town Elections, June 9th, Andover Town Hall, Elm Street, Andover, Maine – Local elections include voting for both Region 9 and Andover School District final budgets, a Selectboard member (1) and School Board Directors (2). Nomination papers are available at the Town Office for these positions. Papers are due back on or before April 27th at 1 p.m. to be certified and then your name be placed on the official ballot.
