Tire Recycling Fee Increased January 1st
Due to an increase in cost from our tire removal vendor, the Transfer Station will be charging a $4 per tire fee, up from $3 per tire, starting January 1, 2026. The increase counters the cost of having it hauled to a recycling center.
Two options to pay for items listed on the Transfer Station fee schedule are:
- Preferably, property owners pre-pay at the Town Office and show your receipt to the attendant at the Transfer Station
- Cash only at the Transfer Station – bring the correct change – and pay at the Transfer Station
Those not paying for items before or during drop off are provided a copy of an “owed” receipt that is to be brought to the Town Office within 7 business days to be paid in full. If owed, and receipts are not paid within the specified time, the attendants have the option of not allowing future “charges” and refusing to accept items.
While reminder letters are sent to those with unpaid debts, it is an unplanned cost for the town to send them out. Please help us avoid these costs and be prepared when bringing items to the Transfer Station.
