Chris Rembis (207) 562-3262 is the new Animal Control Office. Chris is excited to work with us in this capacity and he is open to direct calls to his cell to report concerns. The main avenue to report animal situations is through the local Sheriff’s office.
Reminder for Pet Waste:
Animal Control Ordinance, Section 6, includes the penalty for not disposing of waste of pets on town or property other than the owner as well as “at large” animals. A recent citizen complaint was received by the Select Board involving a pet being allowed to leave waste on, unfortunately, one of the Veteran monuments. This is extremely concerning and should not be tolerated, but unfortunately it was not the first occurrence of this type of situation witnessed by a citizen. We are sharing information to make folks aware of this issue and hopefully alleviate this situation in the future through education and responsibility enacted through ordinance by the voters of Andover.
