Last year the Town Office transitioned to an Internet Phone system which allows the Town to function more efficiently. We communicate this change here on this web site and with customers to ensure everyone was aware of the change. The new system allows calls to be directed to, and sends messages directly to, the correct department automatically (touch of an option) and all messages received are automatically transcribed and go to the department email for response.
The outgoing number from the Town Office now shows as (207) 881-5870 – a Bangor number. Please add this to your contact list and do not mark it as spam. Our incoming number (207) 392-3302 is active and used by those calling the Town. That has not changed. However, if you respond to the out-going number and choose Option 1 it will bring you back to the Town’s phone system without having to call the (207) 392-3302.
This notice is in response to a citizen inquiry who was not getting messages we had been leaving for him and we felt it important to provide this information once again. If you are expecting a call from the office, and you have not heard back, check your blocked lists and please give us a call back! On our side, we have been successful in calling landlines, business lines, and cell phones and have received responses from all of those phone options, so please, reach out if you are not hearing back, as was the case of this citizen.
